About Pickleball ACT at the Pickledome

Pickleball ACT is Canberra's largest pickleball community, founded in 2018 and operating as a not-for-profit since 2021. The Pickledome in Fadden is the main venue, offering indoor courts and a structured program of sessions six days a week. The association also runs sessions at the Shirley Smith School in Kenny and the Belconnen Community Centre.

Sessions are structured by skill level, from beginners learning the rules and basic strokes through to advanced players preparing for tournaments. All venues are fully covered, so weather does not affect sessions. Paddles and balls are provided for beginners, and no prior experience is needed to show up.

New players are welcome at up to three guest sessions before being required to join Pickleball ACT or another club affiliated with Pickleball Australia. All sessions are booked through the OpenSports app. The association also supports the Companion Card Program, providing free entry for companions of participants with a disability.

Fun, not too high impact sport but enough to get me that endorphin rush. Love playing at Pickledome, staff are helpful and other players are welcoming. The place is cold, however, so layer up.
