About Pure Tennis - Runaway Bay

Looking for a friendly place to learn pickleball? This Runaway Bay facility has helpful coaches who make it easy for beginners to pick up the basics. Adrian runs Tuesday evening sessions and there are Saturday morning social games too. The coaches take time to explain the rules and scoring, so even first-timers feel welcome.

The venue has plenty of courts and lots of parking space, which makes it hassle-free to get to your game. It's open seven days a week, with longer hours Monday to Thursday until 9pm. Weekend sessions wrap up earlier at 5pm.

Located on Sports Dr in Runaway Bay, it's a solid spot for both casual games and regular play. Just bring some insect repellent if you're playing in the evening, as the mozzies can get a bit keen when the sun goes down.

First timer and never play pickleball before. Join Tuesday night session 6pm with my teenage son for beginner with Adrian and comeback again for Saturday morning 8am beginner social with coordinator David and Fiona and they are so helpful and easy to talk too. Adrian was exceptional knowledgeable and he make it easy to understand and how to play pickleball from zero. He showing us for the basic skill, rules and how to scoring as well. Plenty of courts, lots of parking space, will definitely will come back again and join the membership. Cheers, Erwin

PICKLE BALL. 🏓 I don't play tennis here. (Though you can if you want to.) I play Pickle Ball. It's played on smaller courts with underarm serving. So it's fun, easy to learn and easy to play for most ages, even into their 70's and probably older depending on fitness.

Sadly this place has fallen from grace it is run down un-maned and not looking as good as it once did. I used to train there as a kid but after a coach that was coaching someone on the court next to the court that my friend and I were playing on laughed at me giving my friend advise on how to swing her forehand (which was ironically funny because I learnt to play here) and because of his outward rudeness I have not been back there since. Much to my dad's disgust he used to like that club as he played there in his teenage years also.
