About Queensland Tennis Centre

Set on the banks of the Brisbane River at Tennyson, this large public tennis facility now sets aside courts 1 and 2 for pickleball, giving players a pair of dedicated outdoor hard courts with permanent lines and fixed nets. Court hire is open to everyone and is booked by the hour, either online or by calling the pro shop, with cheaper off-peak rates before 3pm on weekdays and all day Sunday. Club members pay a reduced rate compared with casual visitors. The wider complex is one of Queensland's premier tennis venues, so the surrounding amenities are excellent, including a pro shop, the Baseline Cafe and Bar, plenty of parking and on-site toilets. Courts are floodlit, which makes evening play possible during the cooler months. Players check in at the pro shop before heading to the court. The centre has embraced the growth of pickleball and hosts the Brisbane Pickleball Classic, a competitive event that draws entries across a range of skill levels and offers prize money. Whether you want a relaxed social hit with friends or a more structured competitive outing, the venue suits beginners and experienced players alike. Opening hours run from early morning until late evening on weekdays, with slightly shorter hours on weekends.

What a wonderful facility this is for the people of Greater Brisbane. It provides facilities for world class tournaments through to the champions of the future. I watched a day session of the recent Brisbane International and was impressed…

Great venue to watch tennis; whole set up is wonderful. Egress and ingress flowed easily and bus/taxi/Uber pick up areas well indicated and organized.
