Tennis Palmerston

Set on the corner of Bonson Terrace and Tilston Avenue in Moulden, this is Palmerston's main tennis centre and the place where the local community gathers to play. The complex has seven acrylic Plexicushion courts with competition-standard lighting, alongside a club house, canteen and barbecue facilities, and it sits next to the Palmerston netball and aquatic centres. While the centre is built around tennis, it also opens its doors to pickleball. A weekly social evening runs on Tuesdays from about 6:30pm and welcomes both tennis and pickleball players, with people of all abilities encouraged to turn up and join in. Pickleball here is played on the existing tennis courts rather than on purpose-built pickleball courts, which makes it a relaxed, casual way to try the game or keep your hand in. The wider Darwin and Palmerston pickleball community also recognises this site as one of its regular play locations. Qualified coaches are based at the centre, so there is support on hand for newcomers as well as more experienced players. With lighting for evening sessions, on-site parking and refreshments, it is an easy and friendly spot for an after-work hit.
