About Westbury Sports Centre

Found on Franklin Street in the historic Tasmanian town of Westbury, this council-run indoor sports centre hosts a local pickleball playing group affiliated with Pickleball Tasmania. The main stadium space is used for a range of court sports, with pickleball played on the indoor floor, and the centre is well regarded by players who have visited for the sport. Run by Meander Valley Council, the venue keeps long daily opening hours and can be booked through the council's online system, while the community group offers a way for newcomers and regulars to join organised social play. The hall sits within a wider facility that also includes change rooms and a meeting room, and amenities such as free parking, toilets and wheelchair access make it easy to get to and use. The floor has recently been resurfaced, improving the playing surface for court sports. Because pickleball here is coordinated by a community group rather than offered as a commercial program, the simplest way to get involved is to contact the group directly to find out current session times and how to come along. The indoor setting means sessions can run comfortably throughout the year.
