About Pickleball FUN
Pickleball FUN Community runs indoor pickleball at the Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre, a shared council leisure stadium at 8 Warner Avenue. Sessions use portable nets set up across roughly four indoor courts, with all paddles and balls provided, so beginners can turn up empty-handed. Founded by Jay McLean in 2023, the program spans five Melbourne venues; the Ashburton site hosts drop-in social play on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, Friday evenings, and Sunday middays, including graded intermediate and advanced socials. Kids' sessions cost $5 and adult drop-ins are booked and paid online through OpenSports. Coaching, private lessons and a beginners' group program are also offered, and members receive up to 25% off. Free parking is available at the venue.
